Early explorers had to sail vast oceans in search of faraway lands. Henry Hudson was determined to find a northern passage to Asia. He navigated the New World and left important accounts of his voyage. Although Hudson never discovered a shortcut to Asia, his exploration of important parts of North America have made him one of the most famous explorers of the 17th century.
